Urban Wildlife Adventure at Avenham and Miller Park

Join Us for a Day of Fun, Exploration, and Mindfulness!

Hey parents and kids! We’re excited to invite you to a fantastic day out at Avenham and Miller Park, all about discovering the amazing urban wildlife around us. We’ll be traveling by train from Croston, and it’s going to be a day filled with adventure, learning, mindfulness, and plenty of fun! We’ll be using all our senses to truly experience the wonders of nature.

Event Schedule

8.50 AM - Meet at Croston Train Station

Gather at the station with your packed lunches, water bottles, sunscreen, and comfy clothes.

Quick headcount and a warm welcome to kick off our adventure!

9:01 AM - Train Ride to Preston

Hop on the train and start our journey.
We’ll chat about the cool animals and plants we might see today.

9:20 AM - Arrive at Preston Station

Arrive and head over to Avenham Park for our day of activities.

10:00 AM - Welcome and Introduction

Gather in the park for a quick introduction to the day’s activities.

-Guided Wildlife Walk and scavenger hunt

Lets explore the park!
Look for birds, squirrels, insects, and plants. Draw or note down what you see! I will be providing a scavenger hunt game! where children can search for colours, specific items, certain textures and smells we will really get our senses going

-Picnic Lunch

Gather at our picnic spot for lunch.
Share stories about your morning discoveries.

- Playground Fun

Time to play! Enjoy some free time at the park’s playground.
We’ll be nearby to supervise and keep things safe.

- Sensory Activities

we will spend the afternoon being in the moment and really exploring nature through our senses!

Leaf and Bark Rubbing: Use crayons and paper to create rubbings of different leaves and tree barks exploring the different textures we can find.

Collect a Rainbow: Find natural items in all the colors of the rainbow. Let’s see who can find the most colorful collection! we can then make nature bracelets or crowns with our colourful finds

Cloud Watching and ID: I will provide cloud frames so we can Lie back and watch the clouds . What shapes do you see? We’ll try to identify different types of clouds too.

Scented Playdough Play: Enjoy some quiet time with scented playdough. Notice the different smells and textures.

2.45 pM - Wrap-Up and Reflection

Share your favorite part of the day and what you learned.
A little chat to wrap things up.

3.10pm train ride back to Croston

3:30 PM - Pickup at Croston Train Station

Arrive back at Croston for parent/guardian pickup.

I have one drop off space available for this day priced at £32 per child including train ticket.
